摘要: Objective To compare two types of bandage contact lenses on the healthy canine eye. Animals studied Six Beagles. Procedures Two different (single sized human silicone lens 'PureVision 2' (Bausch & Lomb Incorporated, Rochester, NY, USA) and specially designed veterinary hydrogel 'AcriVet Pat D' Incorporated) were placed in 12 eyes Beagle dogs. Retention times effects regarding irritation eye, changes tear production, impact tonometric readings, cytologic microbiological alterations eye investigated. Results Mean retention for with special dimensions significantly shorter (2 days) than one size silicon (8.8 days). Irritation scores overall low both apart from causing severe keratoconjunctivitis as a sequel to folding displacement. Tear production remained stable lenses. Intraocular pressure readings place only slightly altered; most accurate obtained through an applanation tonometer. Cytology revealed slight, nonsignificant increase neutrophilic granulocytes lenses; microflora did not change significantly. Discussion Human have longer are less expensive In regard irritation, bacterial growth inflammation, can be recommended use eyes.
