摘要: PURPOSE To determine whether bacteria are isolated from canine indolent ulcers and evaluate their influence on clinical outcomes. METHODS Swabs for anaerobic aerobic culture were collected of 43 client-owned dogs presenting to the University Saskatchewan Veterinary Medical Centre. Outcomes compared between with bacterial isolates those without. therapy was reviewed. RESULTS Bacteria in 8/43 ulcers: Three cultured two five single isolates. Tobramycin antibiotic used prior referral (n = 3). One case did not have conclusive follow-up data referring veterinarian therefore excluded further analysis. All seven culture-positive recorded as healed without complication: healing after one procedure procedures. Thirty-five culture-negative. There no difference outcome negative cultures (P = .7475). CONCLUSIONS 19% ulcers, isolate. Bacterial isolation outcome.
