摘要: Objective To describe the outcome of canine spontaneous chronic corneal epithelial defects (SCCED) treated with diamond burr debridement (DBD) and bandage contact lens placement (BCL). Animal studied Forty eyes 36 dogs presenting to a single private practice. Procedures A retrospective review medical records was performed. Cases were eligible for inclusion if they newly diagnosed SCCED by veterinary ophthalmologist DBD/BCL. All patients received complete ocular examination followed DBD using battery-powered, handheld motorized (Algerbrush®, Alger Equipment Company, Lago Vista, TX, USA). BCL placed post-debridement in all patients. Data analyzed sex, age, breed, duration clinical signs prior DBD; number debridements required before healing achieved; retention, complications attributed DBD, additional surgical interventions achieve healing. Results The median time first recheck 7 days (IQR 7–9 days) 28/40 (70%) cases healed at this examination. mean second 15.5 ± 5.5 days 37/40 (92.5%) final 19 days 18–35.5 days) range 18–52 days. resolved third DBD/BCL performed 5/40 (12.5%) cases. retention rate 95% over points. No case keratectomy or other intervention healing. only complication observed one suspected bacterial keratitis post-DBD/BCL. Conclusions Results suggest that is safe effective treatment SCCED.
