摘要: Wakame, Undaria pinnatifida, is one of the most popular seaweeds used for human consumption in world. Wakame quality mainly valued on basis its morphological features. Continual inbreeding and directional selection have traditionally been with economic to obtain elite strains high-quality forms. In this study, we compared traits cultured sporophytes originating from wild selected U. pinnatifida Galicia (NW Spain). Seedlings (young sporophytes) two were at a sheltered site coastal bay under same environmental conditions. Sixteen different measurements taken sporophytes. We found that both significantly similar all studied characters. These results suggest morphology due conditions specific are dependent cultivation environment. Consequently, Galician populations not an important factor selective breeding enhanced wakame quality, hence, establishment germplasm bank (e.g., gametophyte stocks).
