摘要: One of the most important issues in asteroid phylogeny is phylogenetic status Paxillosida. This group lacks an anus and suckers on tube feet adults does not develop brachiolaria stage early development. Two controversial hypotheses have been proposed for Paxillosida, i.e., Paxillosida primitive or rather specialized asteroids. In this study, we determined complete mitochondrial DNA nucleotide sequences from two paxillosidans (Astropecten polyacanthus Luidia quinaria) one forcipulatidan (Asterias amurensis). The genomes three asteroids were identical with respect to gene order transcription direction, previously reported Asterina pectinifera (Valvatida) Pisaster ochraceus (Forcipulatida) respect. Therefore, comparison genome structures was uninformative purposes phylogeny. However, molecular analyses based amino acid five supported monophyly clade that included Asterina. suggests paxillosidan characters are secondarily derived ones.
