摘要: A series of observations defining thyroid physiology in the developing monkey fetus (Macaca mulatta) were summarized this paper. Follicle formation and colloid synthesis apparent gland by conception age 50 days. They underwent vigorous proliferation progressively subdivided interposing vessels connective tissue. The total iodine content showed a fiftyfold increase between 75 150 days yet weights increased only tenfold. moieties, monoiodotyrosine (MIT), diiodotyrosine (DIT) thyroxine (T4) present constant ratios. 24-hour 131I uptake per milligram tissue fetuses was 8–12 times greater than their mothers. distribution among various moieties about same all fetal glands studied. significant difference T4 values observed infant suggest that much less is released from life after birth. BEI relatively low at younger ages, however, they approached maternal By term are equal for animal man. However, when data expressed concentration (molar) protein nitrogen, situation changed. The (SA) values, through further elaborated studies coupled with placental indicated clearly 131I-labeled detected origin. The serum long administration large doses T4, little or no change normal even though had exceeded three times. There also indication transport to as result high values.
