摘要: Impairment in verbal fluency (VF) has been a consistently reported clinical feature of focal cerebral deficits frontal and temporal regions. More recent behavioral activation studies with healthy control subjects using positron emission tomography (PET), however, have noted negative correlation between performance on tasks regional cortical activity. To see if this relationship extends to steady-state non-activation PET measures, thirty-three adults were given VF task within day their 18F-2-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose scan. was found correlate positively left region metabolic activity but negatively right not correlated significantly Some previous normals paradigms correlations cognitive similar that here. An explanation for the disparate relationships observed brain areas might be mediation different demands by these separate locations, i.e., planning and/or initiation regions memory area.
