摘要: Abstract OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect chronic fetal placental embolization on plasma prostaglandin E 2 concentrations. STUDY DESIGN: Fourteen pregnant sheep were studied (seven embolized and seven controls) for 10 days between 0.84 0.91 gestation. Daily injections nonradioactive microspheres made decrease arterial oxygen content by 30% 35% preembolization values. RESULTS: In response repeated embolization, concentrations increased significantly day 1, declined near control levels 6, but elevated again after 7. Maternal remained unchanged throughout study. Fetal with decreasing oxygenation when CONCLUSION: We conclude that there is production placenta during progressive hypoxemia induced embolization. speculate increase in may be an important hormonal adaptive mechanism maintain homeostasis development insufficiency.
