摘要: Abstract Timber I-joist is a common building construction element in North America and Europe due to its availability easiness of passing the service conduits ducts through openings Oriented Strand Board (OSB) web I-joists. However, order provide passageway for ducts, cuts notches flange are frequently made during without considering structural integrity system. Flange stiffness very critical as it provides flexural strength I-joist, hence prohibited cut or notch flanges. This study examined ten series timber I-joists with single at different locations two span lengths (12 20 ft) compared uncut understand reduction load capacity, failure mechanism tested A total 100 specimens, which included notched I-joists, were this experimental study. It was observed that increase distance from support, carrying capacity can even decrease up 80% comparison Moreover, effects location size also investigated, found these significantly affect an I-joist.
