摘要: The twofold purpose of this research is to develop mathematical programming tools for the optimal or near-optimal design a new type network architecture called wavelength-division optical (WON) and discover underlying principles such networks via experimentation using these tools. WON, multichannel, multihop lightwave with tunable transceivers, suitable use as metropolitan area network. A unique feature WON that great number virtual topologies can be mapped onto given physical topology. problems virtual- physical-topology in are described, techniques their solution presented, interplay between studied. >
