摘要: We investigated the protective effect of Nigella sativa against oxidative injury in heart and kidney tissues rats with renovascular hypertension (RVH). RVH model was induced by placing a renal artery clip (2-kidney-1-clip, 2K1C) Wistar albino (n= 8), while sham 8) had no placement. Starting on 3rd week after operation, received (0.2 ml/kg/day, intraperitoneally) or vehicle for following 6 weeks. Blood pressures (BP) were recorded at beginning study end 9th Cardiac functions assessed using transthoracic echocardiog- raphy before decapitated. Plasma samples obtained to assay asymmetric dimethylarginine (ADMA), nitric oxide (NO), creatine kinase (CK) lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) levels. Production reactive oxidants monitored chemiluminescence (CL) cardiac tissues. Moreover examined through malondialdehyde (MDA) glutathione (GSH) levels Na+,K+-ATPase activity these 2K1C caused increased BP left ventricular (LV) dysfunction, plasma ADMA, CK, LDH (p<0.05-0.001). Moreover, significant decreases NO levels, as well tissue activities GSH contents, MDA both On other hand, treatment significantly reduced BP, attenuated improved LV function. protected hypertension-induced damage cardiovascular function via its antioxidant antihypertensive actions, sug- gesting therapeutic potential hypertension.
