摘要: In the past few years, object–oriented (O–O) conceptual data modeling has emerged as an alternative to traditional technique of entity–relationship modeling. O–O is based on premise that resulting models are easier use and understand. However, most claims superiority not empirically verified. Previous studies in this area have focused a database modeler’s ability create from written description, but concept understanding completed model by designer been investigated. Thus, study explores designer’s understand – Object Modeling Technique (OMT) compared E–R extended–entity– relationship (EER). The OMT EER techniques using three performance criteria: (1) understanding; (2) time understand; (3) perceived ease–of–use. Results indicate only difference between two significantly faster for both simple complex problems.
