摘要: Abstract Hes6 is a member of hairy/enhancer split (Hes) family that plays role in the cell proliferation and differentiation. Recently, we found involved regulation via p53-dependent pathway. In addition to proliferating regions, brain regions where early post-mitotic neurons are enriched also exhibited p53 mRNA expression. Because neuronal apoptosis, here investigated whether can influence survival/death. Overexpression wild-type its mutants induced apoptosis primary cultured cortical neurons. addition, by overexpression was markedly blunted −/− or Bax neurons, suggesting these pro-apoptotic effects mediated p53- Bax-dependent However, transactivation-defective enhanced apoptogenic activity not directly related transcriptional regulation. We propose may play significant death and/or pathological neurodegeneration activation signaling.
