摘要: Statement of problem The success metal-ceramic restorations is influenced by the compatibility between base metal alloys and porcelains. Although porcelain manufacturers recommend their own systems as most compatible for fabricating prostheses, a number have been used. Purpose This study evaluated shear bond strength system 4 alternative alloys. Material methods Two Ni-Cr alloys: ALL Wiron 99, 2 Co-Cr IPS d.SIGN 20 Argeloy NP were selected this study. (IPS d.Sign system) portion cylindrical specimens was mm thick high; machined to × mm, with that 5 1 high. Forty-four prepared (n=11). Ten from each group subjected load on universal testing machine using mm/min crosshead speed. One specimen observed scanning electron microscope. Stress at failure (MPa) determined. data analyzed 1-way analysis variance (α=.05). Results groups, all including porcelain, presented following mean strengths (±SD) in MPa: ALL, 54.0 ± 20.0; Wiron, 63.0 13.5; 20, 71.7 19.2; NP, 55.2 13.5. No significant differences found among values tested. Conclusion None studied demonstrated superior
