摘要: Abstract Many higher education institutions have started to develop academic curricula, research capacity and outreach activities related circular economy. However, little is known yet on how apply economy thinking sustainable campus management. In an attempt address this gap, paper proposes a methodological framework guidance help universities strategy aimed at improving resource efficiency environmental sustainability of their operations. The approach compatible with management frameworks as it follows the well-known iterative process planning, doing, checking improving. involves three main steps: analysis current situation respect within organisation; stakeholder engagement get buy-in inform development strategy; implementation following guidelines provided framework. Application illustrated through case University Manchester, demonstrating principles can be used benchmark existing policies action plans. also shows engaging key stakeholders identify challenges opportunities for embedding into university's systems. proposed are generic applied by any institution across sector.
