摘要: Alzheimer's disease is a complex neuro degenerative affecting millions of individuals worldwide. Earlier it was diagnosed only via clinical assessments and confirmed by postmortem brain histopathology. The development validated biomarkers for has given impetus to improve diagnostics accelerate the new therapies. Functional imaging like positron emission tomography (PET), single photon computed (SPECT), functional magnetic resonance (fMRI), proton spectroscopy provides means detecting characterising regional changes in blood flow, metabolism, receptor binding sites that are associated with disease. Multimodal neuroimaging techniques have indicated structure metabolic activity, an array neurochemical variations neurodegenerative diseases. Radiotracer-based PET SPECT potentially provide sensitive, accurate methods early detection This paper presents review modalities PET, SPECT, selected biomarkers/tracers used diagnosis AD. Neuroimaging such tracers could achieve much higher diagnostic accuracy AD related disorders future.
