摘要: Wildlife conservation is losing ground in the U.S. for many reasons. The net effect declines species and habitat. To address this trend, wildlife institution (i.e., all customs, practices, organizations agencies, policies, laws with respect to wildlife) must adapt contemporary social–ecological conditions. Adaptation could be supported by clear guidelines reflecting expectations governance. We combine elements of public trust thinking good governance produce a broad set principles. These principles represent guidance ecologically socially responsible conservation. They persistent, systemic problems and, if adopted, will bring into line modern natural resources. Implementation require changes values, objectives, processes institution. may difficult, but promise improved outcomes increased support introduce challenges opportunities associated principles, encourage dialogue about them among scientists, practitioners, other leaders alone not change course better, necessary such occur.
