摘要: Objective: In preparation for jointly publishing official government cancer statistics, the Centers Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) National Cancer Institute (NCI) compared incidence rates from NCI's Surveillance Epidemiology End Results (SEER) program CDC's Program of Registries (NPCR). Methods: Data 1999 covering 78% US population were obtained SEER selected NPCR registries that met high quality data criteria. (per 100,000 population) age-adjusted to 2000 standard population, 95% gamma confidence intervals estimated Results: all sites combined higher than (males: 553.6, 538.7; females: 420.8, 412.5), but specific varied by registry program. Rates colon 47.0, 42.7; 36.5, 33.8) tobacco-related cancers in SEER. contrast, lower female breaset (NPCR 134.0, 135.9), prostate 162.0, 170.2), melanoma as well more common among Asians Pacific Islanders (e.g., stomach cancer). Conclusions: Rate differences may arise difference socio-demographic characteristics, screening use, health behaviors, exposure causing agents or operations factors.
