摘要: In the present report metacestodes were collected from mesentery of a taruca (Hippocamelus antisensis) and omentum red brocket deer (Mazama americana) in Peru. Various parameters, including rostellar hook characteristics, measured. Molecular analysis was performed to amplify mitochondrial cytochrome c oxidase subunit 1 gene metacestode isolates. Metacestodes identified as T. hydatigena by morphology molecular methods. This constitutes first detection demonstrates that these animal species are natural intermediate hosts for this parasite.
