摘要: Light and transmission electron microscopy were used to describe the leaf cavity pore of Azolla. The morphological analysis revealed that it remains open during development as well in mature leaves. As seems there is no obstruction by any mucilage, gas exchanges between atmosphere inner gaseous compartment are likely occur. pore, which cone-shaped protrudes into cavity, limited two epidermal cell layers. cells lining inside become teat-shaped morphogenesis. Ultrastructural study these showed presence a large number organelles, paramural bodies 'wart-like' projections at their wall surface, suggesting secretory role. Cytochemical stains made up pectin, callose protein. role possible functions teat-cells discussed.
