摘要: The influence of risk factors on CHD and all-cause mortality rates in 35- to 57-year-old men is examined by means data 325,348 white who were screened for the MRFIT. This large set permits an unusually detailed analysis associated with 6968 deaths, including 2426 ascribed CHD, that detected Social Security Administration during 6 years follow-up. Simple cross classification confirms independent effect serum cholesterol concentration, diastolic blood pressure, cigarette smoking as rates. A distinct escalation noted combinations these factors. strength association each diminished increasing age, although number excess deaths attributable increased because higher death older men. Comparison findings those observed five populations studied Pooling Project revealed overall similarity relationships. It estimated elimination has potential reducing rate two thirds 45-year old men, one half 46-
