摘要: Abstract Whole-lake surveys of Lake Superior were completed during late summer in 2006, 2011, and 2016 to assess lower food web conditions under the Cooperative Science Monitoring Initiative (CSMI). These used a spatially stratified probability approach based on depth within different zones. We evaluated differences crustacean zooplankton biomass, rotifer density, community structure both groups nearshore ( 100 m) zones investigated changes these parameters over time. Although biomasses densities highly variable, differed from each other should be considered separately. Crustacean structure, vertical position consistent time across The that did occur range known annual variability. Total than 2006 all zones, but genera contributed values not same Further studies are needed know whether reflect variability or long-term trends. Finally, we show how this study can facilitate comparisons between monitoring programs. This is important because most limited certain may uniformly high suggests additional research effectively track there.
