Polarization electric fields in the nighttime F layer at Arecibo

摘要: Incoherent scatter radar measurements made in 1981 and 1982 are used to determine the electrical conductivity of nighttime E F regions at Arecibo, Puerto Rico. The height-integrated Pedersen region exceeds that by a factor 10 on average. We therefore conclude that, for solar maximum conditions we have studied, local has little influence electrodynamics. Simultaneous ion neutral velocities often inconsistent with hypothesis fully developed electric polarization field is generated dynamo action region. A better explanation our results obtained including fields originate conjugate hemisphere.
