Cation distribution correlated with magnetic properties of nanocrystalline gadolinium substituted nickel ferrite

摘要: Abstract Nano crystalline NiFe 2− x Gd O 4 (0.0≤ ≤0.4) ferrite was prepared by citrate method. The samples were characterized with X-ray diffraction, FT-IR spectroscopy, TEM and magnetic measurements. effect of 3+ cations substitution on structural, microstructural properties nanoparticles investigated. From Rietveld analysis, the system found to be inverse spinel structure residing octahedral B-site 16c grain boundary, while Ni 2+ occupying at both 16d. lattice parameter ( a ) changes nonmonotonically, first increases then decreases doping content. M–H M–T relations had demonstrated change in moment ferrimagnetic–superparamagnetic transition system. For low temperature measurements, an increase gadolinium content resulted increasing coercive field saturation magnetization M s ), deceases At room substitution.
