摘要: Borrmann type IV advanced gastric cancer has a poor prognosis. Although surgical resection remains the only hope for cure, role of curative surgery is questionable in this cancer. This study defined prognosis We analyzed 168 patients with undergoing at Seoul St. Mary’s Hospital from 1989 to 2010. categorized into (R0) and non-curative (R1, R2, non-resection) groups. The groups comprised 88 80 patients, respectively. preoperative predictive value was 50.5, 8.9 % had microscopic margin involvement. 3- 5-year overall survival (OS) group significantly higher than that (p < 0.001). However, multivariate analysis, curability not significant predictor (p = 0.187). In group, most frequent recurrence site peritoneum (85.7 %). Most recurrences occurred within 2 years. quite limited. Such cases have even after surgery. addition, involvement because it difficult diagnose preoperatively. Therefore, multimodal diagnostic tools treatment strategies should be developed
