摘要: Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is an emerging pathogen associated with endemic and acute viral hepatitis. In this study, we investigate the HEV seroprevalence putative risk factors by a nationwide cross-sectional study in Republic of Korea. The prevalence anti-HEV antibody was investigated 2,450 serum samples collected fourth Korea National Health Nutrition Examination Survey. addition, epidemiological information on possible including gender, age, education, occupation, residence location for exposure to obtained. frequency anti-EIA reactive sample 5.9% (144/2450). individuals groups male, older low education level living rural or coastal regions had high estimates (P ≤ 0.001). significantly higher among self-identified skilled agricultural, forestry, fishery workers (31.3%, P < 0.001). This provides valuable data that could be used associations study. lived area indicated zoonotic transmission important factor infection republic Further studies include detailed continuous surveys are required identify unrecognized monitor prevalence.
