摘要: Evidence has been accumulating linking subjective tinnitus to the somatosensory system. Most patients can change psychoacoustic attributes of their with forceful head and neck contractions. This study assessed significance such somatic modulation by testing nonclinical subjects. Like patients, about 80% subjects, who had ongoing at time (whether or not they were previously aware it), could modulate Over half those no elicit a tinnitus-like auditory perception The finding that contractions, as well loud sound exposure, significantly more likely in people than without supports concept neural threshold for tinnitus. Somatic influences upon are limited sufferers but appear be fundamental property
