摘要: With a view to develop light weight, low cost and abrasion resistant material cast aluminium alloy composites dispersed with granite particles were prepared their properties evaluated. Natural mineral was crushed treated prior its incorporation in the alloy. Liquid metallurgy techniques used prepare involving following steps: melting of graphite crucible, stirring melt, addition reactive metal melt pouring composite into permanent moulds. Physical, mechanical, tribological metallographic studied. It observed that there reasonably uniform dispersion matrix. Hardness (abrasive wear) base improved considerably due it. This clearly indicates these based can be as wear materials.
