摘要: Hyperplastic polyps are usually considered to be an innocent finding with little or no potential progress colorectal cancer. However, recent literature suggests that some of these may morphologically and genetically distinct lead microsatellite unstable cancers. The purpose this study was define the cancer risk associated hyperplastic polyposis. All patients polyposis diagnosed by a single surgeon at university hospital were followed prospectively. diagnosis made presence more than 20 distributed throughout colon and/or polyp least 1 cm in size diameter right colon. Patient demographics, family history, size, location, distribution development noted. Thirteen who met criteria for identified had 30 colon, often > 100. Nine 13 also Of particular note, 7 (54 percent) during period. Four on initial three developed despite frequent colonoscopic surveillance. Five seven cancers located Patients high Failure identify subset could have dire consequences.
