摘要: Previous publications have demonstrated the presence of a cryptic gene encoding novel Enzyme I phosphoenolpyruvate:sugar phosphotransferase system (PTS). Recent Escherichia coli genome sequencing revealed (ptsA) new homologue in 89.1-89.3 centisome region. We analysed this region, and here describe characterize open reading frames (ORFs) (1) fused PTS I-IIAFru homologue, (2) glycerol dehydrogenase, (3) transaldolase (4) two IIBFru homologues, (5) IICFru (6) homologues pyruvate formate-lyase its activating enzyme. Binary comparison scores, multiple alignments phylogenetic trees establish families proteins to which each relevant ORFs belong. Identification putative products cluster leads proposal that several encoded region function anaerobic carbon metabolism.
