摘要: Scorpion venoms contain low molecular weight basic polypeptides, neurotoxins, that are the principal toxic agents. These toxins act on ion channels, promoting a derangement may result in an abnormal release of neurotrans- mitters. In present study we investigated some effects F, H and J fractions isolated from Tityus serrulatus scorpion venom central nervous system rodents. The was partially purified by gel filtration chromatogra- phy. neurotoxic effect these studied convulsive activity after intravenous injection, electro- graphic neuronal integrity rat hippocampus when injected directly into this brain area. results showed injection F induced convulsions, intrahippocampal caused seizures rats damage specific hippocampal areas. Fraction intravenously reduced general mice open field but no changes brain. suggest able to behavioural, electrographic histologi- cal modifications.
