摘要: Chronic stress can impair cognitive functions including learning and memory. The current study investigated the reduction of (mental) improvement tolerance in 64 healthy men women after six weeks intake a dietary supplement containing an extract Sideritis scardica selected B-vitamins. Mental performance visual attention were measured by Trail-Making Test (TMT) Colour-Word-Test (CWT) before/after acute stimulus (noise, CW-Interference). TMT improved upon product intake. CWT reaction time accelerated situations CW-Congruence (overall) (p=0.014), CW-conflict (p=0.024), (with noise) (p=0.001), (without (p=0.004) (p=0.017). CWT-changes intake, differentiated for noise CW-interference, showed (i) bisection CW-interference-related impairment presence from 27 ms to 13.5 ms, (ii) noise-related 34 17 (iii) due combined (noise plus CW-conflict) 14.5 66 51.5 (iv) despite time, no increase error rate. Safety blood parameters reporting adverse events argue product’s safety. These results may be relevant persons solving tasks under conflict and/or (e.g. open-plan offices or car-driving) support that tested alleviates stress-induced executive functioning (working memory, flexibility, controlled behavioural inhibition).
