摘要: Abstract A simple feldspathic glaze which matures at 1280°C and contains iron as a colouring agent was examined by 57Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy. When fired in air, oxidation of the (added iron(II) oxalate) complete iron(III) occupied distorted octahedral site. By contrast soda-lime-silica glass, under same conditions, showed two sites, one [iron(III)], other tetrahedral, although state is uncertain. Firing dinitrogen produced glazes containing iron(III); added oxalate or mixture Fe2O3. The chemical environment matured shown to be function way element introduced into raw batch, firing may also influenced replacement (gradual complete) CaCO3 with SrCO3 BaCO3. Using this glaze, good reproduction Chinese “mirror black” celadon were achieved manipulating form added. Preliminary studies iron-vanadium are reported. Vanadium(IV), VO2+, identified ESR. addition (as metal) glazes, ESR spectra dominated contributions from iron(III). spectrum 6% confirmed presence but revealed another data discussed terms an “FeO2+” species.
