摘要: The study objective was to evaluate the retinal response deficiencies of zinc and taurine present throughout period postnatal development. At parturition, Sprague-Dawley dams were assigned one four treatments in a 2 × factorial design with two levels (4.5 50 μg/g) (0 μmol/g). Guanidinoethyl sulfonate, transport inhibitor, added drinking water rats receiving 0 μmol/g taurine. Male pups (n = 10) weaned on their respective diets at day 22. Dark adapted electroretinograms oscillatory potentials (OP) recorded 48-57 days age. maximal light intensity, amplitudes a- b-waves depressed by deficiency either nutrient, but influence combining these less than additive; same pattern evident for Vmax, maximum amplitude obtained when b-wave plotted as function intensity. This type interaction also OP1, OP3 OP4. Zinc independently decreased increased latency OP5, latencies Light transmitting electron microscopic examination revealed most pronounced degeneration deficient both Tibia liver concentrations provide evidence that nutrients interact other tissues. findings this demonstrate damage during life. These least some functions retina through an yet unidentified mechanism.
