摘要: Abstract Objective The incidence of gastric cancer in older people is increasing. Because patients are at increased risk postoperative complications and mortality, preoperative assessment this population important. This study explored whether frailty could be useful for predicting the outcome with cancer. Materials Methods We investigated 223 (136 men 87 women) over 65 years age who underwent surgery from April 2012 to March 2015 a single institution Korea. Frailty was assessed using Study Osteoporotic Fractures (SOF) index. Logistic regression used identify factors readmission within one year discharge following gastrectomy. Results Twenty six (11.7%) were readmitted after Patients “robust” “pre-frail frail” group had rate 6.7% 19.1%, respectively. After adjusting age, gender, Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group performance status (ECOG PS) (score ≥ 1), histological type stage (III, IV), (pre-frail frail) predictive factor gastrectomy (Odds Ratio, 5.74, 95%; Confidence Interval, 1.78–18.48; p = 0.003). Conclusions Preoperative including evaluation can predict help physicians inform their families risk, which should improve decision making treatment.
