摘要: Objective Professional skepticism and concerns regarding diagnostic reliability hinder research in dissociative disorders multiple personality disorder. The reported frequency of disorder different psychiatric settings ranges from 2.4% to 35%. authors conducted a replication study ascertainment women admitted state hospital over 5.5-month period. Method Responses the Dissociative Experiences Scale Disorders Interview Schedule were obtained, along with data on length stay, county admission referral, commitment status, discharge diagnoses, for 176 female inpatients hospital. Of 421 representing 483 consecutive admissions, 121 discharged before they could be assessed study, 64 excluded, 60 declined participate, enrolled 175 completed procedures. Results Twenty-one (12%) met criteria based Schedule; these significantly younger than without Scores (mean = 59.5, SD 19.6) higher scores 22.5, 20.1), but considerable overlap occurred. There was no significant difference between groups stay or status. Conclusions conclude that 1) wide variability detection is partially due site-specific biases 2) despite its apparent usefulness screening purposes, requires more comprehensive evaluation it can applied broadly.
