摘要: The aim of this cross-sectional study was to determine the prevalence cerebral palsy (CP) among children in Turkey between ages 2 and 16 years. Samples were selected from cities, towns, districts, villages using cluster sampling method; 41861 selected. Data collected by parental interview physical examination. One hundred eighty-six identified with CP. CP determined as 4.4 per 1000 live births included postnatally acquired Origin classified prenatal 49 (26.6%), perinatal/neonatal 34 (18.5%), postnatal 11 (5.9%), unclassifiable 90 participants (48.9%; data unobtainable for two individuals). Type diplegia 39.8% children, hemiplegia 28%, tetraplegia 19.9%, ataxia 5.9%, dyskinetic 6.4%. Prenatal factors seen more frequently groups a high socioeconomic status while perinatal encountered often those low (p 0.05). This shows that is higher than developed countries but aetiology probably similar. Although could originate an increased level obstetric neonatal problems, lack possible aetiological factor approximately half suggests might also be due other factors, such genetic disorders.
