摘要: Caenorhabditis elegans is a small nematode that can be maintained at low cost and handled using standard in vitro techniques. Unlike toxicity testing cell cultures, C. assays provide data from whole animal with intact metabolically active digestive, reproductive, endocrine, sensory neuromuscular systems. Toxicity ranking screens have repeatedly been shown to as predictive of rat LD50 mouse ranking. Additionally, many instances conservation mode toxic action noted between mammals. These consistent correlations make the case for inclusion early safety one component tiered or integrated strategies, but do not indicate nematodes alone replace mammals hazard evaluation. As good culture practice (GCeCP) essential reliable results. This article reviews use various assays, model's strengths limitations toxicology, GCeCP. Published 2016.
