摘要: To investigate the histochemical and microscopical characteristics of lateral maxillary glands, as well their topographical relationship with sinus, 25 adult specimens were used. The tissues fixed in neutral buffered formalin serial sections stained hematoxylin eosin, trichrome, Sudan black B, ninhydrin-Schiff, PAS, alcian blue, mucicarmine. objectives to ascertain: (1) general morphology nasal wall (2) relation between glands (3) gland, (4) gland. In all specimens, sinus was surrounded by glandular tissue. gland occupied submucosa anterior inferior extended from posterior recess superior sinus. showed typical characteristic a serous drained into numerous excretory ducts. epithelium proximal ducts simple columnar distal ducts, pseudostratified ciliated. latter type epithelium, without goblet cells, found mucous glands. Although contained neither free lipids nor proteins, it PAS-positive. A high concentration acid glucoproteins detected system this lined throughout either or cuboidal epithelium. possible contribution functioning upper part respiratory discussed.
