摘要: Aims:  To analyse the environmental stimuli modulating violacein and biofilm production in Janthinobacterium lividum. Methods Results:  Violacein by J. lividum DSM1522T was assayed different growth conditions. Our data suggest that is controlled carbon source, being inhibited glucose enhanced glycerol. produced also presence of sub-inhibitory concentrations ampicillin. As opposite, N-acylhomoserine lactone(s), quorum sensing regulators shown to be positively regulated glucose. Moreover, violacein-producing cultures showed higher CFU counts than violacein-nonproducing ones. Conclusions:  Taken together, our results could a common metabolic pathway as well represent response stresses key factor survival mechanisms J. lividum. Significance Impact Study:  Although several recent studies disclosed number interesting biological properties violacein, few are reported on physiologic function J. lividum. This paper adds new information complex allowing regulating bacterial life hostile environments.
