摘要: Abstract The future of the montado, a human shaped agro-forestry ecosystem South Western Europe, is questioned due to observed lack cork oak health and low natural regeneration. We developed System Dynamics Modelling approach predict long-term sustainability this agro-forest, by recreating cork-oak population dynamics, management practices main environmental biological constrains associated with ecosystem. Our results indicate that leading limitations regeneration in montado ecosystems result from intensity interaction land practices, namely livestock use heavy machinery. conclusions limiting quantity up 0.40 LU.ha−1, considering soil ploughing minimum periodicity 5 years, are crucial maintaining sustainable populations. This study represents first step support strategic options for providing projections trends under realistic social-ecological change scenarios.
