摘要: The aim of this study was to compare titania (TiO(2))-coated, titania-silica (TiSi)-coated, and uncoated (cpTi) titanium fiber meshes as scaffolds for bone engineering. were loaded with marrow stromal cells implanted subcutaneously in rats. Ectopic formation after 1, 4, 12 weeks implantation evaluated using histology histomorphometry. After 1 week implantation, multiple patches unorganized mineralizing tissue seen all implants. amount bone-like clearly increased from 4 weeks. Bone apposition occurred direct contact coated meshes, while a thin layer unmineralized fibrous often observed surrounding cpTi mesh fibers. weeks, the structure bone, marrow-like tissue, further matured fibers embedded lamellar bone. No statistical differences mineralized between scaffold types at any point time. Only TiSi showed increase area (p < 0.01).
