The main symptoms ascochyta consist purplish-brown shrunken white to tan-colored leaf, stem pod lesions, which usually become speckled with black pycnidia. causal organism is similar morphologically fabae Speg. sensu Boerema & Dorenbosch but authors prefer retain name A. lentis BondartzevaMonteverde Vassilievsky because apparent host specialization pathogen. A field survey summer 1979 showed very low levels southern west-central areas. More present moister region north Saskatoon. Reduction quality due probably more important than yield losses.
