摘要: Twenty-nine (37%) of 78 newborn hamsters developed an autochthonous malignant tumor the central nervous system within 31 to 204 days after a single intracerebral inoculation 0.01 ml virus fluid, containing 103.5–104.5 TCID50 HeLa cells/0.1 ml. Eight solid tumors protruding into ventricular in left cervical hemisphere where was inoculated. In one case, entirely separate were found both hemispheres. Four small incipient neoplasms located immediately adjacent system. Two appeared block IVth ventricle. Three situated medulla oblongata. Sixteen spinal cord found, mainly dorsal half column, without extension leptomeninges. Histopathological studies all these showed remarkable uniformity. The designated as counterpart human embryonic gliomas derived from ependymal analge. Electron microscopy clearly revealed cilium with typical concentric pattern nine pairs peripheral doublets no pair (9 + 0) apical processes many cells. presence cilia neuronal origin suggests that cells mimic certain developing neurons (chiefly sensory). The numerous intracytoplasmic filaments and microtubules dysplastic neuronic also suggested origin. Detection immunofluorescent T-antigen frozen sections confirmed viral tumor. Subcutaneous transplantation gave rise rapid neoplastic growth recently weaned hamsters. Control animals inoculated culture media tumors.
