The use of LCMS as an analytical tool for hydrolysis/polycondensation monitoring of a chiral ORMOSIL precursor

摘要: The kinetic of the sol–gel hydrolysis and polycondensation reactions a chiral ORMOSIL precursor was investigated by LCMS technique as function water excess pH. While amount does not significantly change kinetics, strongly depend on [H]+ concentration. At pH ≤ 3, is very fast conversion completed within less than 1 h whereas at 80% still present after 50 h pH = 3.5. This study allows to define set initial conditions time ranges required provide good optical quality dip coated films .
