摘要: Although both uveal (UM) and cutaneous (CM) melanoma cells derive from the transformed melanocytes, their biology varies significantly in several aspects. Malignant transformation is frequently associated with alternations cell glycosylation, particular those concerning branched complex-type N-glycans. These changes occur principally β1,4-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase III (GnT-III) that catalyzes synthesis of glycans bisected N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) β1,6-N-acetylglucosaminyltransferase V (GnT-V) involved forming β1,6-branched antenna glycans. We searched for reasons a different behavior CM UM expression GnT-III GnT-V oligosaccharide products. Our study showed have more than cells, what results higher MGAT5 gene encoding GnT-V. The β1,6-branching may contribute to potential migrate on fibronectin weaker binding main extracellular matrix proteins, observed our previous studies.
