摘要: The management of endangered species under climate change is a challenging and often contro- versial task that incorporates input from variety different environmental, economic, social, political interests. Yet many listing recovery decisions for unfold on an ad hoc basis without reference to decision-aiding approaches can improve the quality choices. Unlike treatments this issue, which consider science-based problem, we suggest clear decision-making process equally necessary. In face new threats due change, managers' choices about require closely linked analyses deliberations identify key objectives develop measurable attributes, generate compare alternatives, estimate expected consequences sources uncertainty, clarify trade-offs across dimensions value. Several recent cases conservation illustrate our proposed decision- focused approach, including Gulf Maine Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) framework development, Cultus Lake sockeye (Oncorhynchus nerka) management, Upper Columbia River white sturgeon (Acipenser transmontanus) planning.
