摘要: The molecular events that drive the progression of Epstein-Barr virus (EBV)-associated nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) are still to be elucidated. Here, we report for first time pathogenic significance an NPC-associated gene, wingless-type MMTV integration site family, member 5A (WNT5A) and contribution EBV its expression. WNT5A is a representative Wnt protein activates non-canonical signalling. With regard role in carcinogenesis, there conflicting evidence as whether has tumour-promoting or tumour-suppressive role. We show upregulated primary NPC tissue samples. also demonstrate expression was dramatically increased cell lines expressing EBV-encoded LMP2A suggesting this latent gene responsible upregulating NPC. In addition, vitro overexpression promotes proliferation, migration invasion cells. Our results not only reveal pro-tumorigenic effects but suggest could important therapeutic target patients with EBV-associated disease.
