Large Deflection of a Rigid-Plastic Circular Plate Pressed by a Sphere

摘要: A rigid-plastic circular plate deflected by a rigid sphere is investigated. The behavior at large deflection considered; the contribution from bending moment neglected. Approximate formulas for load-deflection relationship are derived. Experiments conducted and test data compare well with prediction results. It revealed that size of has strong effect on resistance compressed plate.
