Adenocarcinoma of the cardia: A 10-year regional review

摘要: Adenocarcinoma of the gastric cardia has worst prognosis all sites, and treatment is often palliative. This study reviewed 736 patients with carcinoma registered Birmingham Cancer Registry during 1960–1969. Fifty-eight percent presented advanced disease. Radical resection was accomplished in 265 (36%). The age adjusted 5-year survival for 4.5% 9.8% those undergoing radical resection. In disease, palliative associated a longer than treated by intubation (p < 0.001) this difference maintained even presence liver or peritoneal metastases. There no 30-day mortality rates it suggested that be undertaken whenever possible.
